TRAINING OPPORTUNITY-REGISTRAR POSITION GENERAL SURGERY COSECA RESIDENCY TRAINING AT COAST GENERAL HOSPITAL

Applications are invited for suitably qualified candidates for the above mentioned course.

It is a five year training programme divided into 2 years for membership (MCS) and 3 years for fellowship (FCS).Requirements:-

  • Must be a holder of MBchB or equivalent from recognized university.
  • Must be registered by the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentist Board
  • Must have worked in a busy hospital at least 1 year after internship.
  • Must have 2 (two) referees.
  • Sponsorship will be by the sending organization (i.e. hospital, church, community or privately)

A detailed description of the positions are below:

  • Member County Policing Authority (Re – Advertisement))

Pursuant to section 41 (1) and (2) of The National Police Service Act 2011 and Gazette Notice number 114 dated 9th January 2015, Vol. CXVII-No. 2 the Mombasa County Public Service Board wishes to recruit competent and qualified persons to serve as members in the County Policing Authority.

The Board therefore, invites applications from the categories listed below:

1. Business sector

2. Community based organizations

3. Persons with special needs

4. Religious organizations

5. Women

6. Youth

Only one Person will be selected from each category.

The functions of the Authority shall be to:- 

a. Develop proposals on priorities, objectives and targets for police performance in the County;

b. Monitor trends and patterns of crime in the County including those with a specific impact on the woman and children;

c. Promote community policing initiatives in the County;

d. Monitor progress and achievements of the targets;

e. Provide financial oversight of the budget of the County police;

f. Provide feedback on performance of the police service at the County level;

g. Provide platform through which the public participate on all aspects to do with    County policing and the National police service at County level;

h. Facilitate public participation on the County policing policy;

i. Ensure policing accountability to the public;

j. Receive reports from community policing forums and committees; and

k. Ensure compliance with the national policing standards.

The applicant shall be eligible for appointment if the person:-

(a) Is a citizen of Kenya,

(b) Satisfies chapter Six of the Constitution, and

(c)  Is resident, conducts business, or is employed in Mombasa County for a continuous period of three years.

(d) At least Form 4 leaver or equivalent

Members appointed shall serve for a term of two years and shall be eligible for reappointment for one further term.

Requirements for appointment

A person shall not be qualified for appointment as a member of the authority, if that person;

(a)  Is an un-discharged bankrupt;

(b)  Has been removed from office for contravening the Constitution or any law;

(c)  Is not a citizen of Kenya; or

(d)  Has in the conduct of his or her affairs not met any statutory obligation.

2. County Chief Officers – Job Group ‘S’

The Chief Officer shall be:

  • The Accounting and authorized officer in respect to the exercise of delegated powers and shall be responsible to the respective County Executive Member
  • Oversee the management of finances, preparation and submission of budget estimates, annual plans and programmes
  • Responsible for implementation of policies and development plans in the department
  • Responsible for Development and implementation  of strategic plans in the department
  • Formulate and implement effective programs to vision 2030 and sector goals
  • Promote national values and principles of the County Public Service in the department

Requirement for Appointment

  • Be a Kenyan Citizen
  • Be a holder of a First Degree from a recognized University in Kenya. Those with a Master’s degree have an added advantage
  • Have at least 10 years’ experience in leadership at senior management level in the public or private sector

Job Purpose

Management and coordination of the environmental and natural resources in the County.
